His Burden

The first verse in the first chapter of Malachi says "The oracle of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi,". The word oracle here is the Hebrew word massa. It can also be translated as "load or burden". That same word is used in Exodus 23:5 to describe the heavy load that has left a donkey lying helpless, stretched out. What could possibly be described as a burden or a load to the creator of the universe? It's the same thing that led Jesus to fall under the weight of the cross as he journeyed toward Calvary. It's the same thing that left him stretched out on that cross for all the world to see as he bore our burden of sin. It's the underlying purpose of the whole of creation, yet it still remains veiled to so much of the world. The second verse in the first chapter reveals this burden "I have loved you". I HAVE LOVED YOU! Can't you just hear him screaming it to the world!
"In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4:10
I pray that you will see His love for you and those around you today!
